Myers Briggs Type Indicator
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the most highly reliable instrument of its kind in the world, It is designed to help individuals learn about their personal strengths and potential areas for growth. The key is to develop your understanding of yourself , which will lead you to better understand and accept other's personality characteristics. Millions of the MBTI's are taken every year to help individuals develop leadership skills, manage careers or create careers more in line with their profiles, deal with conflict, manage relationships , create more successful teams, and communicate more efficently.
The typology model originated by Jung (and further developed by Briggs and Myers) regards personality type as similar to left or right handedness: individuals have preferred ways of thinking and acting. The MBTI sorts some of these psychological differences into four opposite pairs, or "dichotomies", with a resulting 16 possible psychological types. No preference or total type is considered 'better' or 'worse' than another. They are all, as in the title of the book on this subject by Isabel Briggs Myers, Gifts Differing.
